Therapeutic Social Worker (part-time)

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Therapist or Therapeutic Social Worker to join our multi-disciplinary DDP-informed team led by Dr Ben Gurney-Smith, Consultant Clinical Psychologist. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be involved in undertaking assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Work therapeutically with families.
  • Receive additional therapeutic training.
  • Work in a team where Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy are at the heart of practice (PACE).

Children have described our service as “way beyond cool” while OFSTED have described us as ‘one of the best in England….where children’s emotional wellbeing improves significantly.’

We are looking for applicants qualified in Social Work, Psychotherapy or Creative Arts Therapies with proven experience of working with adopted and/or looked after children and their families.  This is a part-time post for 3 days a week.

Birth Relative Counsellor - Mansfield

We are currently recruiting for a qualified and accredited counsellor registered with the BACP or equivalent, to work for us on one half day a week over 46 weeks in a year.  This role is for an independent self-employed contractor and will be based in Mansfield seeing up to 3 clients per day.  Regular monthly supervision with a trained Counselling Supervisor is required, and attendance at monthly group consultation at Adoptionplus offices.  In addition we will also provide the successful applicant with access to some of our Adoptionplus training courses at a reduced rate.
